The emergency cash advance service is no longer available through DKV ASSIST
DKV announces that the emergency cash advance service is no longer available through DKV ASSIST.
Belgium is to introduce the satellite-based toll system Viapass for trucks with an anticipated starting date of 1 January 2016. The belgium toll system will include the existing Belgian Eurovignette road network (Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels) (motorways and national roads) and supersede the current time-based Eurovignette in Belgium. The new Belgian truck toll will apply to vehicles over 3.5 tonnes permissible total weight and to Belgian and foreign trucks alike. The level of the toll will depend on the permissible total weight and EURO class of the truck as well as the road category. Toll-related data will be collected via an On Board Unit, which will be ordered after online registration or purchased from any one of about 100 service points in Belgium. Further sales points will be established in neighbouring countries.
While Viapass for trucks in the Flanders and Brussels regions will be collected as a tax (without value added tax), in Wallonia it will be a road use fee (with value added tax). Immediately after registering for the toll and installing the On Board Unit in the vehicle, the user will be able to choose to pay before or after the journey. One way of conveniently settling the incurred toll charges will be by DKV Euro Service.
The financial arrangements are expected to be complete by the middle of 2015. This will be followed by a test phase to ensure a fully functional toll infrastructure is up and running for the beginning of 2016.
