Spain is preparing a fuel excise refund scheme

The Spanish government plans a series of extraordinary and temporary measures from January 1, 2023, after the €0.20/litre fuel subsidy, adopted last year, expired on the last day of last year.

Thus, vehicles with Spanish registration numbers will benefit from an excise duty refund scheme: €0.20/litre (period 01.01. to 31.03.23) and €0.10/litre (period 01.04. to 30.06.23).

Companies that are entitled to an excise duty refund but are not registered for it (without a NIF or NIE number) will not receive this subsidy. For more information, we recommend that you consult a tax advisor.
